Watch your kid transform into a mathematical wizard by logging onto our math practice for kids.

Math teachers are really good at grading correct responses when written in math notation (essay questions). Computers are not. It takes specialized software (a non-exclusive list includes MyOpenMath, WebWork, WebAssign, MyMathLab, ...) to do that.

Quiz yourself on math concepts by generating a practice quiz based on an equation you're solving. Math Assistant will work with Microsoft Forms to create a practice quiz of up to 20 questions featuring similar problems to your original problem, then embed it on your OneNote page. You can create as many practice quizzes as you like.

Teachers and Students can now generate a practice math quiz directly from the Math Assistant, consisting of a set of problems like the one the student is working on. The quiz is created as a Form and embedded directly into OneNote, allowing independence and as much practice and help as a student may need.

These quizzes are listed according to the topics in the 7th-grade math curriculum making them easily accessible. Students or teachers can directly access a quiz on any topic. You can check out our extensive library of 7th grade math worksheets, 7th-grade math unit tests, and 7th grade math practice problems that cover all the essential math skills and topics, from fractions to graphs and probability.

This resource can be used on its own as a weekly assessment to guide instruction. However, is it particularly effective if used as a Friday assessment in conjunction with my 5-A-Day Math Review. My 5-A-Day Math Review contains 5 daily math tasks for (Monday-Thursday).

To ensure her online students had plenty of opportunity to practice, Walters decided to implement multiple attempts on the quizzes with prerequisite requirements for the retakes. Walters also increased minimum homework scores for each subsequent quiz attempt because she believed that actually practicing math helps students be more successful.

The best way to practice math questions is by timing yourself as you answer the questions provided in this blog. Once you have completed all 30 questions, cross-check your answers to understand where you have gone wrong.

Q30. Sarah read a novel in 20 days. She made it a habit to read 16 pages every day for the first 15 days. She then started reading 18 pages every day for the last 5 days. How many pages was the book? (In maths quiz questions such as these, a firm foundation in basics can help you arrive at the right answer.)

Although it is possible to approximate numeric questions between the two platforms, for best results we recommend that you use Crowdmark to create and assess math quizzes. More information on Crowdmark can be found on the Instructor Help page under the Crowdmark section.

When it comes to math questions, if you see any broken notation that starts with a /(, it represents the Latex notation that did not automatically transfer over properly. To fix this, you must simply copy-paste the text into Latex and then insert the proper notation back in.

Welcome to the University of Houston's TExES 4-8 Mathematics Preparation Site. This free resource provides you with access to over 20 different online quizzes which cover a wide range of mathematical topics and concepts, based around the TExES 4-8 Mathematics Competencies. You do NOT need to be a University of Houston student to access these quizzes. This website, along with the related online practice quizzes should be useful for:

You can take as few or as many quizzes as you want, in any order, depending on the content which you need to practice. Your quizzes will be automatically graded for you. You have the option to take each quiz again and again. Most of the quiz questions are programmed so that the numbers are different each time you take the quiz, allowing you to practice the same content without repeating the exact same problems.

If you are a university or college instructor of students pursuing teacher certification, we encourage you to register and take the quizzes so that you are familiar with the resources that we are providing. Please also consider participating in the discussion board to provide valuable assistance to those who are preparing for their certification exams.

You have many resources available to help you succeed in this task. I am available for office hours, and your lab assistants are available many afternoons also. So, we are halfway through our second 9 weeks of school, and this is the first year where I started out not checking homework. In August, I carefully explained to students that there would be suggested homework problems and that even though I would not check their homework, there would be frequent quizzes to check their understanding.

Just a note on grading: in our school system quizzes count the same as a daily grade (30%) while tests count 60%, and benchmarks count for 10%. So the impact on their grade is not over-large, but it is enough to get their attention.

I have begun to allow students to retake quizzes in addition to the option of completing a corresponding activity at IXL. I resisted doing this initially because I thought I would be overrun with students wanting to retake their quizzes, but that has not been the case. In fact, the requests mostly come from students who earn a good grade to start with but want an even higher grade.

I want to share as honestly as I can what the results have been in case others are also trying to find the best way to address the homework issue. At the first of the year it seemed to be working very well. Initially students were doing well on their homework quizzes and seemed to enjoy having some choice regarding their homework.

However, as the year has progressed, students are encountering more difficult material. Couple that with field trips, sickness, and absences, and the quiz-or-homework option is taking a toll. I have begun to hear more complaints about the homework quizzes.

On the flip side, many students are not happy with their lower average due to frequent quiz grades. To gauge more accurately how my students feel about the homework policy, I gave them an anonymous survey so they would feel free to share how they felt about the homework quizzes.

I was really surprised with the responses I got. There were students who said (about 16%) that they would prefer to have their homework checked in the more traditional way. However, the majority of students stated that they preferred homework quizzes to homework checks. I have listed of few of their comments below:

I am also finding that the homework quizzes are helping my students diagnose the areas they need to improve. Immediately after the students take the homework quiz, they often ask me to work the quiz problem(s). I hesitated to do that at first, but I find myself doing it more and more.

For some students, I really think homework quizzes have helped them grow and learn more than if I had checked homework the way I had done in the past. I also think it is helping them take some ownership in their learning. They have to decide if they need the practice or if they have mastered the concept.

However some students, specifically students who are hard-working but struggle in math, are becoming discouraged. Students who are used to getting credit for just writing the problem can feel like they are being punished when their work is being graded for accuracy.
